"The Hearts of Men"

The battle will rage in the hearts of all men, is the time for regret in the past?
We fire our guns, our rocket grenades and the atom we save for last
The front line guys are scared and confused, watching the body parts fly
They’re praying and saying my life’s been too short, as we watch them break down and cry.

Back home in the streets, in the heart of the city, we protest this damnable war
We don’t have a clue what the soldier goes through, knee deep in blood and gore
The freedom to speak and to protest for peace, is a right we should never misplace
But remember all those who gave up their lives, that’s something to never disgrace

We’re brothers and sisters of this family on earth
Tracing it back is the key.
The root of the problem we don’t remember
Let’s open our eyes to see
List all the things that you want in this life
I hope universally will be
Included on the list of each harrowed soul

“From greed and distress set me free”!

There’s propaganda, so many lies, how much of the truth do we hear?
The controllers of all that is bad in this world are the ones that need to fear.
They’ve ruined so many, for wealth and power, they’re not sure which way is up
So down they will go to feast in the cellar with nothing but blood in their cups!

There is no war that is good for mankind but until the hearts of men
Soften and shudder from the dead in the streets we’ll still be killing our friends.
The family of man will learn in small ways the worth of the soul next door
Then we will find the peace we desire, there really isn’t much more!

We’re brothers and sisters of this family on earth
Tracing it back is the key.
The root of the problem we don’t remember
Let’s open our eyes to see
List all the things that you want in this life
I hope universally will be
Included on the list of each harrowed soul

“From greed and distress set me free”!
